[*] As the worst placed Brazilian team, Corinthians would be "relegated" and replaced by
the 1998 Brazilian champion. However, as 1999 Brazilian champion was Corinthians itself,
this "relegation" didn't happened.

2000: C Atlético Mineiro (runner-up of Campeonato Brasileiro 1999) [*]
      SC Corinthians P (invited)
      Cruzeiro EC (invited)
      CR Flamengo (invited)
      SE Palmeiras (invited)
      São Paulo FC (invited)
      CR Vasco da Gama (invited)

[*] Grêmio apparently was "relegated" due to be the worst placed Brazilian team. Atlético
Mineiro was qualified to replaced Grêmio apparently due to the fact that Corinthians, the
1999 Brazilian champion, was already among the participants in Copa Mercosul 2000.

no torneio.
Copa Mercosul 2000.

2001: Cruzeiro EC (3rd place of Campeonato Brasileiro 2000)
Grêmio FBPA (4th place of Campeonato Brasileiro 2000)
      SC Corinthians P (invited)
      CR Flamengo (invited)
      SE Palmeiras (invited)
      São Paulo FC (invited)
      CR Vasco da Gama (invited)
