SECOND PHASE
Araxá appealed the result of their awarded defeat against Sparta because of a Sparta player who would
be ineligible because he had been suspended, the suspension had been reverted to a fine which was not
paid. Araxá won in the state sports court (TJD-MG), the national sports court (STJD) but lost in the
National Sports Council (CND). Therefore, Sparta remained qualified to second phase. That appeal led
to a two and a half months suspension of the league, while the matter was resolved.
