In 1993, FMF decided to shorten the number of teams in the state's top flight. Therefore, First Division was split into Módulo I and Módulo II. Supercopa Minas Gerais 1993 was the tournament that decided which team would go to each "Módulo".
Em 1993, a FMF decidiu enxugar a Primeira Divisão, dividindo-a em Módulo I e Módulo II. A Supercopa Minas Gerais 1993 foi o torneio que apontou quais os times que jogariam em qual módulo.
