In March 1929, oddly enough, the Liga chose to terminate the 1928 League keeping the points from the First Stage, and so handing the title to ABC. A Diretoria Técnica da Liga Norteriograndense de Futebol alegou a necessidade de fazer reformas no gramado do campo do ARA e o segundo turno foi transferido.
