More details on each state championship files (from 1953 to 1955). [2] In 1956 FFD organized the Divisão Departamental de Profissionais (DDP), dividing the state in professional zones. 1ª and 2ª Zonas together organized the professional Vale do Paraíba Championship. [3] In 1957 the championship was organized by the 1ª Zona alone. [4] With the rising abandonment of professionalism, the Vale do Paraíba Championship joined with the Baixada Fluminense Championship (3ª Zona) in 1958 and 1959. From 1960 to 1963 the competition was not played. [5] In 1964 the competition, renamed to Copa Vale do Paraíba, returned as an amateur competition. [6] In 1966 the Vale do Paraíba Championship became professional and valid as a professional zone of FFD again. [7] As in 1958 and 1959, the championship counted also with a team from Baixada Fluminense.
